Home Dialysis Services

Queens-Long Island Renal Institute’s (QLIRI), Home Hemodialysis Program allows patients to transition from an in-center setting to receiving hemodialysis from the comfort of their home, using the Tablo Hemodialysis System. Patients who enroll in the program are first trained at QLIRI by a registered nurse, who provides step-by-step over the course of four weeks. During the training, patients learn how to use the system before they transition to home hemodialysis.

Hemodialysis is a treatment that filters wastes, toxins and excess fluid from the blood for people with failing kidneys. Those needing dialysis can spend three-to-five hours a week, several times a week to receive treatment. QLIRI’s at-home program provides patients the flexibility to access needed care without ever leaving their homes, while also freeing up time to engage in their daily activities.
